I mentioned a bit ago that my oldest did a donation party for her birthday again this year. She took those donations and gave them to the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) as she loves animals (dogs in particular) and wants to be a small animal vet when she grows up. Well about 2 weeks ago I heard from one of the coordinators at ARF who wanted to set up a day to meet with Boo. Today was that day!!!
We woke up early and got cleaned up. Because we procrastinated about breakfast we stopped at McDonalds on our way and were still on time for our 1130 meeting time at Chinook Petsmart. We met with Jane. Jane introduced us to her foster dog Cricket who is 8 mths old and totally adorable.
This is Cricket with Jane
Cricket was the most well behaved 8 month old puppy I have ever met! Jane spent lots of time with Boo explaining what the Animal Rescue Foundation does. Boo was totally awe struck and thrilled to get a chance to see how ARF helps these cute puppies find furever homes.
Boo got to hold some cute puppies too. She felt pretty special since they only let her and Monkey hold the puppies and everyone else could only watch and pet the ones in the pens.
These were 2 of a 14 pup litter. 10 weeks old!
These ones were already quite big at 10 weeks old but ohhhh so cute! And not too hyper. They sat still on her lap and had their pictures taken by me and by the ARF photographer. Boo will be in the next ARF newsletter for her donation! She can't believe they wanted to do so much for her. All she wanted was to be able to help animals!
But wait! This was not all!
Boo was then escorted (with us) over to the ARF table and told to pick out a Tshirt. she picked a very nice white one (which i will photo her in tomorrow) and they also gave one to Monkey who was thrilled!!! They gave a set of note cards to each of the girls. Before we could say anything else they also gave Boo a beautiful Hoodie! She put it on right then and there and has yet to take it off (except for supper time of course). We're totally speechless. I was in near tears when we left there! If I could've we would have adopted every one of the puppies there! As soon as I have a house we will be heading back to ARF to get our first puppy!!!
So Boo was spoiled today when she wanted only to help some defenseless animals. Monkey was spoiled too! We never in a million years wanted or expected to get anything in return. Boo has also been given an Honourary membership to the ARF for the year. She is very exited to see the next newsletter and share everything she's learned with her friends and anyone who will listen!
Get the word out! ARF is GREAT!
Thanks for reading! Happy Holidays!
